Anna - Christian Science Sentinel, Dec. 3, 2007
Ever since I was little, I've loved snakes. When I was four, a woman in front of us in a pet store check-out line was carrying a huge snake. I started petting it because it seemed to like me.
The woman turned and started to tell my mom to keep away because the snake supposedly didn't like strangers. I've learned in Christian Science that everything God creates expresses good and beautiful qualities.
See what Anna's mom thinks about Aochan!
The biggest story of our time is not the financial crisis, as serious as it is, or the presidential election, as all-consuming as it may be right now. It's something more profound, far-reaching-and closer to home for each one of us. And it has to do with that persistent hunger for something more in life...
I stood on a platform 30 feet high and I was supposed to leap out and catch a trapeze. I've had easier tasks.
Ready to see the Australian Summit slideshow? Enjoy the images and people (and a great soundtrack) from this two and a half-day Summit held outside Melbourne at the Mt. Morton Lodge.
I had a problem: people I didn't know. They made me uncomfortable. I thought it was just the way I was until I learned differently...in Iceland.
