TMC Youth’s Susie Rynerson traveled to South Africa in November 2007 to co-host Sunday School workshops with local churches in three cities. These churches flung their doors wide open and welcomed hundreds of attendees from the surrounding communities—some familiar with Christian Science and some who were not. Some students have attended a Christian Science Sunday School since they were born, while others may be attending one for the first time. This experience gap can be hard to manage both as a teacher and a student. But, one Sunday School teacher in Paris, France discovered how natural it was to conduct class no matter the background of her students or the size of her class.
TMC Youth’s Susie Rynerson sat down with Miryam Betouche who shared how her classes became more meaningful—and grew—once she prayed about how to better “receive” students in Sunday School.

They explain how they have created an environment that fosters the free exchange of ideas, and how they prefer to ask and respond to questions while exploring the deeper meanings of texts from the Bible and Science and Health.
