Patti,

Thanks for sharing! The Bible Lesson Study Circle in facebook sounds great!! I would love to chat with you some time about what is working and what isn't. We are in the middle of designing an improved area for Bible Lesson study on tmcyouth.com and would love your ideas and those of others.

My first question would be, what kind of media are you posting? Are you posting links to some of our Bible Lesson videos? (http://tmcyouth.com/lesson) What else? This really is a multi-media generation.

If you could please repost on the discussion forums on tmcyouth.com, that would be great - I'm sure others will have ideas as well. Here's the link: http://tmcyouth.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=6

Cheers and thanks so much for posting,

At my church, we've begun a Bible Lesson Study Circle in a facebook group, and encouraged our Sunday School students to participate. The idea is to study in depth 1 section of the lesson daily, and then share something -- maybe a Bible translation of a verse, research on a passage, your favourite passage and why, a discussion question, maybe an experience you had or read where someone worked with a passage, etc. We were hoping to encourage deeper Bible lesson study for all. We HAVE had some insightful posts from the students, but as mother of 2 of them, I find that it's a struggle at times to get them to participate regularly in it. I'm trying to be patient with this, but any suggestions you have for how we can make it more engaging would be greatly appreciated. (If I've submitted this question to the wrong spot, please delete and redirect me.)

If you go to the "workshops" tab under Sunday School, you will see information about the Do-it-yourself workshop: http://tmcyouth.com/sunday-school/sunday-school-workshops/

These Manual-based workshops ideally include both adults and students from multiple churches in a region. They are based on support materials provided by TMC Youth, and are customized to the hosting region. They have been successfully held in Texas and Brazil, and there is one coming up in Nigeria in a few days.

I think this is a wonderful idea. 2 children in Sunday School after singing "Shepard Show Me How To Go" - one turned to the other and sed, "What does it mean "All the rugged way?" The other child sed, that means carpeted. The way to Heaven is carpeted. HA! HA!
