Thank you soooooooooooo much for this podcast. I’ve been feeling a lot of pressure recently relating to financial issues and I found the comments and discussion in this podcast so helpful and fulfilling. How do you pray to know that supply will be met though? The Jews walked in the desert for 40 years before their supply was met… is it possible to expect that finances will always forthcoming? Are there any phrases in the Bible which you go to regularly to find help and inspiration when dealing with financial issues?

Thanks so much all! This podcast ROCKED!

This isn’t from the Bible but Mary Baker Eddy wrote that “Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need.” And even though the Jews were in the desert all those years, their needs were met…they had manna and meat to eat every single day. I think we can expect that our *needs* will be met…though that doesn’t necessarily translate to lots of cash, I do think we should have sufficient funds.

    Hey A Grateful Guy!

So glad you enjoyed the podcast. When I’m praying about supply issues, and it seems like things just aren’t coming together yet, sometimes it helps me to stop for a minute and really get clear that God is taking care of me RIGHT NOW. I know for me it’s been tempting when the bank account balance gets low to go into panic mode and start worrying. But it’s helpful to stop and reassess my riches so to speak. I can be grateful for that $5 I have, b/c today, that will meet my need. I’ve had some amazing experiences where from one day to the next I didn’t know where things were going to come from, but when I could stop and be grateful for what i did have– the $5, the sun shining, a good friend, etc. then it multiplied.

I think we have a good example in Jesus and his disciples to look to. Jesus told them to let go of all their personal things, not to take all their human riches with them, and to just go heal. And yet their needs were met. Sometimes from a few small fishes and a loaf of bread, sometimes from the coin in the fishes mouth when it was time to pay taxes. So there’s definitely good authority that we can expect our human needs to be met. As for the children of Israel, the lesson I take from that story is that sometimes it’s a matter of perspective. Yes, they were wandering in the wilderness and had to deal with their fears and doubts etc, *but* throughout, God was there and did take care of them. That process of wandering was not a period of lack or void of God’s care–it was their time learning that they could turn to God first and see the immediate proof of His care– manna, water from a rock, the parting of the Red Sea, etc. It wasn’t about money, yet their needs were met.

Thanks again for listening and stay tuned for part 2!
