How do magazines get produced from inception to publication? Get an inside look at the publishing business from the Bible Lesson Products Dept. of The Christian Science Publishing Society. This internship offers a wide variety of experiences that provide an overview of publishing production and editorial operations and workflow. The intern will learn editorial processes, Bible studies, and marketing. Students interested in any of the above should apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with researching, editing, and proofreading weekly youth magazine
  • Learn and assist with producing and maintaining trafficking and production schedules for a youth magazine
  • Assist in developing and implementing a long-term marketing plan for weekly youth magazine.
  • Learn archiving and records management for youth magazine.
  • Various administrative and support work

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate clearly with others and to take instruction with grace and intelligence.
  • Writing and editing experience useful.
  • Ability to work in a professional setting and the flexibility to change tasks as the work demands.
  • Any special skills the applicant brings to this internship will be thoughtfully considered.

When do I start?

  • Summer 2008

  • At least 8 weeks
