TFCCS has a centralized financial and business analysis function in the FCAP group. A detail-oriented intern will gain experience:

  • Managing a project to completion
  • Employing data modeling and analytical skills
  • Performing data entry tasks as well as higher level problem solving tasks

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support to monthly allocation process for General Ledger close
  • Assisting in the development of key internal reports designed to help managers measure performance
  • Working with FCAP and HR to complete functional analyses with managers.
  • Help generate and implement cost saving opportunities
  • Support of the Oracle reimplementation project

Desired Qualifications:

  • Finance/Accounting majors preferred
  • Knowledge of Activity Based Costing and Balanced Scorecard, a plus
  • Ability to work in a professional setting
  • Self-motivated
  • Intellectual curiosity

Let your light shine! Expand your understanding of The Mother Church and the avenues available to serve and heal. Connect with the public to share Christian Science. Have the privilege and joy of working for a Cause you love. Help young Christian Scientists get involved locally.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the design and coordination of programs that engage Sunday School students with all facets of the design of Church (testimony meetings, Reading Room, etc.)
  • Help with the design and coordination of events that connect TMC with the youth and/or families of our community.
  • Encourage and assist with coordination of youth participation in Wednesday testimony meetings and Sunday services.
  • Serve as a Greeter at Sunday School, welcoming and registering visitors and assisting with the weekly Open House. Encourage similar involvement of Sunday School students.
  • Analyze TMC’s current communication with various public audiences (i.e. college students, parents of young children, etc.) and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist with behind-the-scenes clerical tasks of providing three sessions of Sunday School each week, including coordinating visits of groups to TMC Sunday School.
  • Help with Wednesday evening childcare

Desired Qualifications:

  • Love of Christian Science, Church and youth.
  • Creative, proactive, and warm
  • Good communication and computer skills
  • Must go through the approval process for all who work with children (interview, two references and a criminal background check)

  • Assist the Office of Language Services staff in all aspects of helping The Mother Church share its mission in a multilingual, multicultural context.
  • Help devise creative, organized methods of tracking and archiving projects.
  • Assist with the preparation and updating of language glossaries.
  • Format documents in various languages and proof for accuracy.
  • Collaborate with people in other departments to help determine how best to meet their requests for foreign language related services, including oral interpretation.

Learn about The Mother Church and its world-wide activities! The Integrated International Planning Team (IIPT) is looking for a globally minded research intern. IIPT is a group of individuals from different departments who work together to help coordinate many of the organization’s international activities - particularly within and affecting “developing fields.” To help us out, we’re looking for an intern to assist the teams’ project management staff in gathering information about the various countries around the world where The Mother Church and The Christian Science Publishing Society have an active interest.

Responsibilities:

This is a wonderful opportunity to get hands-on experience on equipment and software that is commonly used in the radio and television industry. We will count on our intern to become a functioning member of our production team in every aspect of the production process.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Multimedia staff to learn all phases of the production and post-production process including: duplication requests, equipment set-up, short editing assignments, tape logging/digitizing, camera operator, teleprompter, graphics/chyron operator, directing, stage manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn how traffic is managed and schedules are made for magazines in many languages.
  • Interface with international freelance translation team.
  • Learn production workflow systems and help to refine them.
  • Typeset magazines (graphic design, if qualified).
  • Assist in the design of a marketing campaign designed for a target audience.
  • Learn editing, proofreading, trafficking and production schedules for a youth magazine
  • Assist in developing a long-term marketing plan for weekly youth magazine and monthly magazine.
  • Learn to track and analyze weekly circulation figures.
  • Learn archiving and records management for numerous magazines.
  • Some database work.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate clearly with others and to take instruction with grace and intelligence. Writing and editing experience useful.
  • Desire to become familiar with any of the following: Editorial, Bible studies, language translation, typesetting and proofreading, graphic design, advertising, marketing, and studying the efficiency and quality of workflow systems. The student’s own strengths and specialties may focus the internship in particular areas.
  • Good analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work in a professional setting and the flexibility to change tasks as the work demands.
  • Interest in other countries or languages; foreign language studies helpful.
  • Any special skills the applicant brings to this internship will be thoughtfully considered.

This is a wonderful opportunity to get hands-on experience on equipment and software that is commonly used in the radio and television industry. We will count on our intern to become a functioning member of our production team in every aspect of the production process.

Responsibilities:

Works with the Multimedia staff in all phases of the production and post-production process including: duplication requests, equipment set-up, short editing assignments, tape logging/digitizing, camera operator, teleprompter, graphics/chyron operator, directing, stage manager.
May be assigned to complete a video project.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a television studio environment
  • Working knowledge of field equipment including cameras, lights, sound gear, etc
  • Well-versed in technical systems and signal flow for video and/or audio production
  • Ability to work in a professional setting. Brings enthusiasm and energy to the work
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
