Hey, it’s great to be online with you! TMC Youth asked me to try my hand at blogging on their site, and I happily agreed. I look forward to interacting with you on topics that you care about.

As a Christian Science practitioner, I pray for people everyday who are struggling with all kinds of problems. Many want to lose weight, get along better with their boyfriends or girlfriends, improve their grades, conquer colds, build self-esteem, defeat depression, find a reason to live, break an addiction, heal a terminal disease, and a whole bunch of other things that would make this list too long to read!

I expect you have issues you’d like resolved in your life, too. Let me know about them. Let’s chat in this blog and look for some answers.

You might be wondering, “Who is this Evan guy, anyway?” So here’s a bit about myself.

I live in Richland, a modest city of 45,000 in the southeast corner of Washington State, USA, located in the heartland of a rich agricultural area.

I grew up on a farm in this region — turned apple orchard — in this region, spent unending weeks out with nature, tilling crops and working the fruit trees as a kid and teen.

I earned a BA degree in economics at Stanford University, then came back home to help my dad manage the family farming operation. After five years, I decided farming was not for me, and went into the full-time healing practice of Christian Science. It was one of the best decisions of my life. I love my work!

Today, I’m married with two children. Our son Tyler is in 7th grade, and happens to be a shining jazz trumpet player and aspiring tennis champ. Our daughter Jenna is in the 10th grade, and excels at swimming, playing the flute for wind ensemble and saxophone for the high school jazz band.

Kathy, my wife, keeps us all running in the same direction in between her tennis matches. Thankfully! I love to play tennis myself, and am captain of a USTA tennis team. My family loves to play in the mountain snow during wintertime, and enjoy the quiet of nature in the summer.

I look forward to learning about you through back and forth dialogue on this blog!

Enjoy….

Evan, thank you for sharing your ideas with us. How can we overcome anxiety about the future? I know that we need to live each day to the fullest, but sometimes it is
difficult to actually do it. Thanks so much!

    To Katharine,

Great question! Sounds worthy of a blog…

Until then, in short, we make the most of the future by making the most of today. You don’t have to wait until tomorrow to have something good coming from God today. God is always here and now. Live faithfully in the now, and that right living will take care of tomorrow.

I will put this subject on my blogs to come list! Thanks for asking…
