George heard that I took Hugh to the grocery store just about every Saturday. I loved my mornings with Hugh. We ate brunch and talked about spirituality, healing, and the practice of Christian Science.

Then George called for the same favor, and I had to say yes. George didn’t say a word when I picked him up. Then for what seemed like hours, I followed him around. He picked up each item, analyzed it for a full minute, placed it back on the shelf, and then picked up another. My mind had a meltdown. And there was still the silent ride back to George’s apartment and the slow carrying of the bags into the kitchen.

Sharing our hearts

I have a friend who collects heart shaped stones. Everywhere she goes, she finds them because she’s keeping an eye out. One can only conclude, the world is full of hearts, both hidden and easy to find. It’s a good lead-in to a story about trusting that love is always there, right?

I was in college, and was bothered by my roommate’s behavior. I think we were a bit tired of each other to begin with and we both had lots of courses and heavy work loads. So it was easy to get annoyed at the slightest offense. She made a few offhand comments and I decided to ignore her for awhile.

Getting settled in India

Hi my name’s Lizzie and I’m 15 years old. I come from England, however I’m starting a new life in India. When my dad told me that his work had given him the opportunity to relocate him and his family to India to live for a couple of years, I was so excited. I thought it was a really awesome idea.

Two months later after some careful thinking and concluding that this was God’s plan for us, we were in India for a look-see visit. We visited the schools, the apartments, shopping centres, etc., We saw everything we needed to see before we came to live here the following month. (more…)

Joining the party

Do you ever feel like you are on the outside looking in? That there’s a big party going on, but you weren’t invited?

I have. But understanding more about who I am as a spiritual idea and a child of God turned it around for me.

It was in college when Christian Science really started kicking in—I started seeing that the beautiful truths about God and man (that God is our Father and Mother, Love, pure, consistent, and loving; and that we, as His/Her children are made in the image and likeness of God, therefore we are pure, consistent, and loving) are something that I could bank on, work from, and understand my world better in this context.
