Sorry Bob! I just now saw your comment from last October saying you're still wanting to know how to answer tough questions. My response is the two great commandments: 1) have confidence that God is the only Mind and that God communicates only good to man through the Christ message. Since Mind is divine Love, it never communicates confusion, ignorance, hate or fear and there can be no resistance or obstruction to the Christ message (God's communication) because there is no other mind. 2) See only God's creation; recognize that if God is the only creator and creates only perfect man, obedient only to the law of Spirit, then there cannot be a mind which can break away from God and revolve in an orbit of its own (S&H 522). God's man is naturally receptive to spirituality (Gen. 1). The only question is, do we believe this; are we expecting this to be true? I affirm in my prayers that the Christ, Truth, alone communicates to man, that it is the only voice anyone can ever hear; that man has the God-given ability to hear, understand and follow this divine message; and that nothing can interfere with that Christ power to communicate, because God, Spirit, is the only power and reality. Hope this is helpful Bob!

Christine and Phil are amazing. They have such a strong understanding of this Science. I would love to hangout with Christine for one day. I think I would learn so much!

What good ideas. And, how wonderful to hear of how the people in Cameroon are being drawn to Science through the examples of the lives of those who are already studying and demonstrating Christian Science.

I especially appreciated the last part of this video, when they got into animal magnatism, or the hatred of the Christ. I think this is extrememly important that we defend ourselves daily (and hourly) so that we aren't impressed with agressive negative thinking, or thinking that God can't handle the situation, or that we, personally CAN handle it.

Bob - the interview began with Chet asking Christine Driessen and the others specifically for an example of a time when she had been given a tough question to deal with. Christine gave one of the best examples I've ever heard! Doesn't that inspire us to deal with far less difficult situations? I have nothing but admiration for these guys.

Hey, what a great video. this is my first visit to this site and boy you talk about God works in mysterious ways? My son works in management for an international christian company. Concerned, he sent me a copy of a testimony from an ex-Christian Scientist. This person had entirely reversed their view point of Science. Allegedly they were the third generation of Scientists in their family, as am I. In a nut shell this person challenged our stance on Life, Mrs Eddy, Jesus, Christ and even God? I was shocked and hurt to read "I was going to hell for being a Christian Scientist" ? Reading on, it appeared she followed the ways of two strangers who knocked on their front door one day, claiming to be christians; and now her view point had changed entirely? My heart immediately went out to them. It has become apparent to me that alot of other christian faiths attack Christian Science. I have pondered along time about this...why? All I can say is, Science has only provided both my loved ones and I with goodness for over thirty years. My daughter suggests "people who don't understand hit out and attack"! This may be true? However this video has given me the support I need to challenge this view point and pray for all. Thanks to everyone involved in this production. God Bless everyone.

I haven't seen this particular video, but I have heard
both Christine and Phil speak on the topic a couple of times and I've always walked away with something useful. In fact, there's a blog on this site by Lindsey Hedge where she used some of the ideas Christine shared and was able to talk about Christian Science comfortably for the first time with someone who didn't know anything about it.

I felt Christine didn't really answer the question--how do you deal with tough questions.

She talked a LONG time and gave a very long example that didn't answer the question.

Phil didn't really answer it, either.

Come on, folks!

I've just listened to the first bit - Christine's recount of her interview experience is extraordinary. I never knew interview techniques could be so terrible. How she managed to overcome that is a true demonstration of God's goodness and omnipotence.
