Julia Wade, soloist at The Mother Church, has a new CD. “Alabado sea Dios” is a collection of soulful Spanish songs. You can get a taste for the music right here as you listen to Julia talk with TMC Youth’s Sharman Brown. She shares how she learned to sing in Spanish and how she chose these particular Latin songs. It wasn’t easy to narrow them down!

This is a great interview with Julia Wade! It’s really neat to hear Julia talk about how much thought and prayer she puts into her soloing for The Mother Church and her singing career. Very inspiring!
Julia Wade’s enthusiam about her work is infectious and contagious! Aeeee!!!
Speaking as a younger person, I enjoy listening to this CD. It’s nice to hear something done in spanish! The songs I like most are “Cerca de Ti”-very calming to listen to when I need something the chill me out. I like the use of voice in “Bueno es alabarte, Senor”, and “Soy Feliz” is so simple and uplifting in the way that it’s done with the guitar and how Julia sings it. My favorite would have to be “En Sus alas”. If anyone’s ever heard this done as a solo in church (maybe you’ve heard it in english as “On Eagle’s Wings”) I definatly recommend listening to this version.
I think music is a universal language and the Julias “Alabado sea Dios” speaks to me very deeply. I don’t understand a word in Spanish but the music is Wow! I received this CD when my country Kenya was undergoing a very unharmonious and unhappy time. I believe her voice echoing over the seeming chaos has been, and continues to be a most healing effect to this city just as it has soothed and healed me. This particular CD is most profound. I would like to thank Julia again and again and again. Thanks. Asante sana Julia!!
