When I was 7 years old, I burned my hand, and it kept me awake for quite a while. My mom and I prayed together, talking about the idea that God is Love and how His love included me. She told me to think about the children in the world who might be awake right then but didn’t know that they were included in God’s love, in Love itself. This idea, that there were children who might be afraid or suffering who might not think these comforting and healing thoughts made me heart-sick, and I wanted to help them right away.
