Saying Grace

Kendra Scott

by Kendra Scott

I’m going to start this off by doing what my family calls “Gratitudes.” It’s what we say as grace before a meal, a way of saying ‘thank you, God’ for the good in your day so far. As I see it, this interning experience was my spiritual meal. So I guess I’m doing my grace after the meal.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned during my internship couldn’t have been planned. It came about from simply watching everyone around me enjoy their days in all of the departments I worked in. To be honest, I’d never had a 9-5, sit at a desk with a computer sort of a job before…or any conventional job, really. I’ve always spent my summers being a camp counselor. And then during the school year, I worked as a life guard for a 4 or 5 hours each day.

Patrick

by Patrick Bonsi

Hello!

Everyone, I am Patrick Bonsi and I just started an internship with TMC Youth and The Christian Science Monitor. I always love taking on new experiences—from, from traveling half way round the world for school, to going to spending a great summer with children at camp. As a junior in college I knew that at some point I would have to do an internship, and I was ready to embrace the adventure.

Moving into the Asher house here in Boston was quite a memorable experience. I felt very included from the beginning, from helping my roommates move furniture to going out for dinner with them my roommates on my first day at the house.

Kendra Scott

Here’s a re-cap of the last few weeks of my internship. The Mother Church Sunday School put up some murals created by the kids. They’re beautiful! So I got to help with a team of people to decide where the mural should be hung. One is of a large tree, and the other is a representation of The Sermon on the Mount. You should come see them for yourself if you’re ever in the area! They’re impressive.

Community in Christ

Kyle Turner

by Kyle Turner

In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy defines Christ as, “The divine manifestation of God, which comes to the flesh to destroy incarnate error.” In my search for community in Christ, I’ve loved this idea of God’s manifestation that destroys error, evil, fear, confusion, worry, and grief is the foundation that supports this community. Kendra Scott

by Kendra Scott

Hey, I’m Kendra Scott and I’m a music intern here at The Mother Church. I’m an acting major and attended school in Chicago this past fall. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My family and I bounced around living in different countries until we finally settled here in Massachusetts. This is where I’ve been living for most of my life.

So what does being a music intern entail? Really, anything including organizing the library of solos to reviewing music demos from artists all over the world sent to The Christian Science Publishing Society.
